Luminate Serves as Independent Engineer for World’s Largest Solar + Storage Project
Luminate is pleased to serve as independent engineer for Terra-Gen’s financing of its Edwards Sanborn solar and storage project commencing construction in Kern County, California. Ultimately consisting of 1,118-MW of solar generation and 2,165-MWh of energy storage, the Edwards Sanborn facility will be the largest solar-plus-storage project globally. The Edwards Sanborn project will have more than 2.5 million solar modules and more than 110,000 lithium-ion battery modules and will reach commercial operation in stages, with approximately 230-MW/735-MWh of storage due to come online in August 2021. Luminate is also serving as independent engineer for Terra-Gen’s approximately 139-MW/416-MWh Valley Center energy storage in San Diego County, California.
