Solar
Our experience is extensive, comprising over 30 GW, ranging from distributed generation to the world’s largest utility-scale projects. We provide solar resource consulting and independent engineering services in support of the development, financing, construction and operation of solar PV and thermal generation. Our team is led by authorities in solar energy research, development, resource and energy projections, and power project finance. Capital Dynamics’ and 8minute Solar Energy’s 400 MW Solar, 300 MW / 1200 MWh Battery Storage Project
Luminate supported Capital Dynamics in establishing its development partnership with 8minute Solar Energy for the Eland solar-plus-storage facility. Upon completion, this 400 MWAC solar and 300 MW/1200 MWh energy storage project will provide record low-cost renewable energy under a long-term PPA with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

NextEra 20 MW Solar, 10 MW / 40 MWh Battery Storage Project
Luminate provided independent engineering and consulting services in support of the financing of NextEra’s Pinal solar + storage project in Arizona. This $60 million facility is Arizona’s largest combined solar + storage system and one of the largest solar/storage facilities financed in the US. Pinal is the first of three grid-scale battery storage projects planned to connect to SRP’s system.


250MW Silver State Solar – Winner of IJ Global’s Best North American Solar Deal of 2015
Independent engineering review, including solar resource assessment and energy projections, in support of the debt financing of NextEra Energy Resources’ 250MW Silver State Solar Power South, a photovoltaic power project employing modules from and built by First Solar in Primm County, Nevada.

300MW Carolinas Solar
Technical advisory and due diligence services to Duke Energy in support of the evaluation of proposals submitted in response to Duke Energy’s request for proposals (RFP) for 300 MW of new solar energy capacity in its Duke Energy Carolinas and Duke Energy Progress territories.
Wind
We provide comprehensive wind resource consulting and independent engineering services in support of wind power projects. We combine independent engineering and project finance experience with highly-focused capabilities in wind energy, resource consulting and turbine technology, provided in seamless fashion. From development advisory to resource and technology consulting to independent engineering services in support of project acquisition, financing and portfolio management, we bring extensive experience with the major turbine manufacturers and generation throughout North America.

149MW Jericho Wind
Independent engineering services in support of the financing of the 150-MW Jericho Wind Energy Centre employing 92 GE 1.6-100 wind turbines in the Municipality of Lambton Shores and the Township of Warwick, Lambton County, Ontario and the Municipality of North Middlesex, Middlesex County, Ontario.


50MW Huntington Wind Farm
Luminate provided independent engineering services in support of the financing of the 50-MW nominal Huntington wind farm to be located near Huntington, Oregon, comprised of five 10-MW facilities developed by Oregon Windfarms and PowerWorks: Willow Spring Windfarm, Durbin Creek Windfarm, Prospector Windfarm, Benson Creek Windfarm, and Jett Creek Windfarm. Geothermal
A leading advisory firm in geothermal power, we bring experience in support of the financing of some 40 geothermal power projects comprising nearly 2 GW of geothermal power generation throughout the western United States and internationally.

28.4 MW Steamboat Hills Geothermal
Luminate serves as independent engineer for Ormat’s 28.4 MW Steamboat Hills geothermal repower project located in the southern boundary of the City of Reno in Washoe County, Nevada. The project facilities are comprised of two air-cooled, binary generating units and a geothermal wellfield with brine pumping collection and reinjection systems.

97MW OFC2 Geothermal
Independent engineering services to John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. in connection with the financing and application for federal loan guarantee for commercial technology renewable energy generation project under the Financial Institution Partnership Program for Ormat Nevada’s Jersey Valley, McGinness Hills, and Tuscarora geothermal power projects being developed by special purpose company OFC2.
Biomass, Pelletizers, and Biofuels
Our experience with biomass-fired power generation includes dozens of projects covering a variety of woody and agricultural based biomass feedstocks. At the forefront of the growing pelletizer market,we have provided advisory services and served as IE in support of the financing and construction of a variety of pelletizer projects.
From ethanol to landfill gas to AD biogas-fired power projects, we have provided services for nearly four billion gallons of annual ethanol capacity in the U.S., Canada and Europe. We have reviewed dozens of new and operating ethanol projects, including dry and wet mills, a variety of feedstocks, all primary technology providers and emerging cellulosic technologies, and comprise a highly experienced and authoritative team in ethanol project financing, construction monitoring, commissioning and operations, optimization, and troubled assets, including corrective action plans, plant shut down, lay-up, and idling. Our landfill gas, biogas and anaerobic digester power experience includes numerous plants and portfolios comprising nearly 600 MW.

74MW Merritt & Fort St. James Biomass
Independent engineering and construction monitoring services in support of the financing of Fengate Capital Management and Dalkia’s 33-MW (net) each biomass-fired, air cooled Fort St. James Green Energy and Merritt Green Energy projects located in British Columbia, Canada.


Pannonia Ethanol
Independent engineering services comprised of construction and operations monitoring, and independent engineering review and report in connection with an expansion of Pannonia Ethanol, a of 200 million liter per year dry mill, corn-to-ethanol project in Dunafoldvar, Hungary.
