Luminate is pleased to announce that Derek Meng has joined Luminate, with a focus on battery energy storage systems and renewable energy power projects.
Derek has four years of experience working in energy storage, primarily with nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries in stationary storage and automotive applications. He has held multiple customer-facing technical roles at major OEMs, specializing in battery energy storage system (BESS) products for large commercial and industrial (CI&I) and utility projects. Derek has worked with global teams to introduce new stationary storage and automotive products, conduct new market entries, and coordinated record-setting projects. Prior to joining Luminate, Derek worked for LG Chem and Tesla, among others. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles – Henry Samueli School of Engineering.
